We cordially invite you to participate at the expert discussion “Livestock Farming in India – Perspectives, Challenges and Opportunities”, which is organized by German Agribusiness Alliance at OAV, German Agricultural Society (DLG e.V.) and German Cattle Breeders´ Federation (ADR e.V.). We are honoured to welcome the Indian Secretary for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Shobhana K Pattanayak as a speaker to the event, he will be accompanied by a delegation.
Accounting for nearly one fifth of global milk production, India is both the largest milk producer and consumer worldwide, with production growing at an annual rate of 4 %. Also, meat consumption in India is rising by around 14 % annually. The Indian poultry industry has an enormous potential to serve as well the local as international markets. These developments account for the enormous potential which lies in the Indian livestock production.
During the event, several schemes of the Indian government to support the further development of the livestock farming sector will be presented by officials from the Indian Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. We invite business representatives and experts focusing on livestock production to engage in a dialogue and discuss how productivity of the sector can be improved as well as product quality can be enhanced, in order to unleash the potential of the sector in India.
