World Food India 2017
At the occasion of World Food India 2017 from 3 to 5 November, the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA) at German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV) together with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce conducted a number of activities for highlighting the expertise and engagement of German business with regard to building an efficient food system in India.
30.11.2017A high ranking business delegation of German companies was gathered in New Delhi, representing the areas of packaging and food processing technology, animal feed ingredients, crop and horticulture protection, agricultural machinery, post-harvest technology and solutions (storage, cold storage and drying), logistics, food manufacturing, dairy technology and cold chain solutions. Their innovations in technology and services were showcased in the framework of the Germany pavilion.
On 4 November, 2017, the Country Session Germany "Germany – Excellence in Food, Technology, Know-how and Innovative Solutions" brought together relevant stakeholders from business, politics and institutions from Germany and India to discuss challenges and opportunities for business. Speakers represented the areas of processing technologies, post-harvest management, wholesale and certification and food safety control system. It was concluded that a strong, efficient and viable food processing industry and food system requires not only technology solutions, but investments and funds addressing various areas and various stakeholders along the value chain. With its innovations, services, technologies and products German business contributes to a large extend to modernizing the food sector in India: many manufacture and produce in India, many provide know-ho, services and technologies to make production processes better and more efficient. They all follow the vision of “Make in India.”
