Mission of the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV) to the “Business Opportunities Fair 2018” of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)

We cordially invite you to a business trip organised by OAV and the EZ-Scout Programme in cooperation with the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the mission is the participation of German companies, especially SMEs, in the “9th Business Opportunities Fair“ (BOF) organised by ADB. The mission will focus on South Asia and comprises two stages, Manila and Kolkata. It will take place from 13th - 17th March 2018.
The programme of the first stage of the mission in Manila will begin a day prior to the BOF with a meeting with Japanese companies who are in Manila because of the BOF, in order to identify potential consortium partners for joint implementation of ADB projects. This will be followed by a dinner at the residence of the German Ambassador to the Philippines, during which the German Ambassador and the Director of the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce will brief the delegates on the politico-economic environment in the Philippines.

At the two-day Business Opportunities Fair, the network platform for suppliers of goods, construction and other services for ADB projects, you can gain first-hand information on ADB procurement plans and contracting of ADB-financed projects. In the course of the mission it is possible to arrange bilateral meetings in order to develop important personal contacts with ADB sector experts and ADB staff.
During the second stage of the mission in Kolkata, India you will gain insights into the economic situation of South Asia, the region for which the ADB has predicted investment needs of USD 5.477 billion for the coming fifteen years. Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce will give information above all about India, West Bengal, Assam and Odisha, with a particular focus on infrastructure and its expansion.
Afterwards the German Consul General will welcome the delegation to his residence: he and the German Ambassador to Bangladesh will deal with the latest changes in the economic policy framework in India and Bangladesh. A member company will brief the mission on its infrastructure projects in India and Bangladesh. You will also have the opportunity to visit an ADB project which supplies water to Kolkata and the government agency responsible for the project.

Registration
The participation fee for the trip is 750, - Euro for OAV/AHK members and 1,500, - Euro for non-members.
The travel, accommodation and food expenses are paid by the participants themselves. The arrival and departure to Manila or Kolkata and the accommodation are also organized by the participants themselves.
