Infrastructure Alliance: Smart City China Round Table
14. March 2019, Hamburg
China's urban population is rapidly growing: 59 percent of its population are living in cities already. By 2050 this number is expected to increase to 80 percent. The Chinese government is pushing the development of smart cities counting around 500 pilots already. New and sustainable mobility solutions, distributed energy generation, automated waste management, personalised healthcare, digital integration – these innovations are key for the development of China’s urban future and offer business opportunities for German high-tech companies.
We cordially invite you to the launch of the Smart City China Round Table to discuss potential future German-Chinese collaboration for the development in the Cities of the Yangtse-Delta (Shanghai – Anhui – Zhejiang – Jiangsu) together with the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Hamburg, Mr Du Xiaohui.
Building on the OAV Infrastructure Alliance Meeting on 22 February 2018, the Smart City China Round Table is a follow-up meeting where OAV member companies Siemens AG and Volkswagen AG took the lead in developing an OAV Smart City China Report in cooperation with other OAV members. The Smart City China Report gives an introduction to the Chinese national Smart City policy, introduces five of the key Smart City regional clusters and presents German innovation and solutions supporting Smart City development. The publication of this report, combined with the Smart City China Round Table on March 14, will bet the kick-off event for further meetings to promote more in-depth collaberation for Smart City development in China.
