Indo-German Law and Business Forum
06. July 2017, Hamburg
Kindly note that the event will be postponed. The exact date will be announced shortly.
We cordially invite you to the Indo-German Law and Business Forum organised by O.P. Jindal Global University, NCR Delhi, and Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, in partnership with OAV – German Asia-Pacific Business Association and supported by DLA Piper.
Since India began its economic reforms policy in 1990, the volume of bilateral trade between Germany and India has risen from 2.7 billion Euros in 1990 to over more than 17 billion Euros today. However, the percentage of Germany’s trade with India is less than 1 percent of Germany’s total global trade. A joint statement issued by Chancellor Merkel and Prime Minister Modi in April 2015 emphasized the need to “foster stronger ties between business and industry on both sides in order to support India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.” The joint statement also stressed the importance of “strengthening collaboration between universities in India and Germany.”
To achieve these goals, the organisers of the event plan to initiate a sustained dialogue between lawyers and the business community from both countries. The Indo-German Law and Business Forum will focus on specific themes, involving issues of both law and commerce affecting the bilateral trade ties between the two nations. The inaugural event will focus on IP rights enforcement, please find further information in Downloads.
To cover the catering costs, there will be a registration fee of 30 Euros per person. Please register online until 30 June 2017.
