China Update: Autonomous Driving Trends in China’s Greater Bay Area

22. July 2021, Online

Technological innovation, digitization, interconnected technologies as well as the need to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions have a strong impact on the mobility concepts of the future. China, having committed to drastically reducing its carbon dioxide emissions, is a global key player when it comes to e-mobility and autonomous driving. It is therefore highly important to stay informed about recent trends and developments in the Chinese market.

We would like to cordially invite you to our China Update on Autonomous Driving, organized in cooperation with Huangpu (Guangzhou) District’s Economic Promotion Office in Europe (Heidelberg, Germany). In the webinar we want to look at recent developments and the status quo of Autonomous Driving in China. This does not only include technological and regulatory developments but also challenges that rapid technological shifts pose to traditional public transportation systems.

Our speakers will be Mr. Sebastian Ibold, Project Director of the Sino-German cooperation on low-carbon transport of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Mr. Zhengming Wu, Vice Director of the Guangzhou Intelligent Vehicle Pilot Zone Operation Center & Association will elaborate on legal challenges and new standards for new mobility concepts. From the business perspective, Mr. Jackson Lam, Director International Business Development at WeRide and Mr. Xu Liwen from Baoneng will elaborate on environmental effects, smart city development and safety requirements.
