Agricultural Expert Seminar: Precision Agriculture for Smallholder Farmers
07. March 2023, Online
Precision agriculture, a method of location-differentiated and targeted cultivation of agricultural land, becomes an increasingly important issue for farmers. Therefore, OAV would like to invite you to an expert seminar to shed light on the challenges and opportunities of precision agriculture for smallholder farmers, especially in India and Indonesia.
During the seminar, which is part of the Business Scout Fund Project “Digital Transformation in Agriculture”, we expect inputs from companies and institutions from Germany, Indonesia and India and are very much looking forward to the generation and discussion of ideas for new business models.
Insights and practical experiences are, for example, shared by the German University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), the Indonesian company Mertani and Mr. Ram Dhulipala, one of the authors of “Digital Agriculture in Action - Selected Case Studies from India”, a study from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). For further details on the programme please find the preliminary agenda here.
The project led by OAV – German Asia-Pacific Business Association in cooperation with Steinbeis Research gGmbH and financed by the Business Scouts for Development Programme on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), addresses stakeholders from universities, research institutes and the business community in agriculture from the African partner countries Morocco, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Cameroon and the Asian partner countries India and Indonesia, to transfer know-how and discuss feasible applications of digital technologies into the agricultural and food sector. Further information on the project can be found here.
